How has the Laurier MBA help your career?
Thus far, it has opened and revealed some possible career options to me by giving me additional skills and knowledge that I have not expected.  For instance, my courses in Competitive Intelligence and Competitive Strategy have taught me the basics of how to create future-oriented and sustainable competitive advantages through critical thinking, integrative thinking, strategic thinking, double-loop learning, and triple-loop learning.  I am sure these skills and others will be very useful in my future careers.

What opportunities has your MBA degree provided?
To be determined, the MBA journey is in progress.

To date, the most memorable learning opportunities outside of the curriculum are, in no particular order:

1) The various speaker series events hosted by the Centre for Supply Chain Management, Centre for Strategic Leadership, and Schlegel Centre for Entrepreneurship.

2) John Molson MBA International Case Competition try-out

3) MBA Games 2010 at Laval University, Quebec City

4) Invitation to a HRPA event – “Evening with Kevin O’Leary”

5) Invitation to the 2009 Laurier MBA Alumni Awards

6) Invitation to the 22nd annual Laurier Outstanding Business Leader

Award luncheonThese additional learning opportunities offer real life and practical examples to complement the theories that I learn in class.  They have given me a more broader view of “the good, the bad, the ugly, and the possible” in business, government, and society.

I think it is true with the saying that, “how much you get out of your MBA is proportional to how much you put into it.”  I have chosen to pursue the opportunities that are available to me.

What have you like most about your Laurier experience?
This is a tough question!  So I will pick my top 3, in no particular order:

1) Friends that I have made in class
2) The extra-curricular learning opportunities mentioned previously
3) The assistance provided by the staff at Career Services (SBE Graduate Program) and MBA office

What are your career aspirations?

I know this may sound lofty, but everyone should aim high to push themselves outside of their limits and comfort zone:

Working for/with a multinational organization to create, develop, and sustain highly innovative and competitive global operations and supply networks that truly benefit the environment, society, and economy.

Our time is limited so let us make the best use of it to maximize our positive impact.  We all want high-quality lives and high-standards of living, and why not do what we can to achieve that?
