International Study Opportunities

At Laurier we know that our MBA grads will play important role in an increasingly global environment. We strive to support their development in this context in many ways. In addition to welcoming International students to the full-time and full-time with co-op programs at our home campus in Waterloo we offer students an opportunity to become involved with International MBA schools and we offer an elective in International Business and the opportunity for students to focus their degree by completing a concentration in International Business Management.
International Business Elective – Each year students have the opportunity to participate in a two week study tour that provides them with the opportunity to network with company officials and academic officials in the host country. Students find the opportunity provides valuable insight to the environment for enterprise in other countries as well as the opportunity to learn about cultural differences first hand. Trips have taken students to Chile, Argentina, India, Singapore, Thailand, Viet Nam, China, among others
Concentration in International Business Management – Students can focus their studies through a selection of electives that will provide them with a thorough understanding of issues Canadian managers face in an international marketplace. Students will choose such electives as; Competitive Strategy for a Sustainable World, Global Market Management, Global Operations and Logistics, International Business, International Financial Management, International Strategy
International MBA Schools – MBA students at Laurier may choose to participate in one of three MBA summer schools. Programs are offered in Europe (Euromed in France, www.euromed-management.com and ESSAM in Denmark, www.essam.dk) and in Asia.
