Not-for-Profit Practicum
We believe in
the spirit of service.
Corporate social responsibility is an integral part of the Laurier MBA program.
All Laurier MBA students participate in the Not-for-Profit Practicum. While completing your Laurier MBA, you will gain exposure to an often-ignored sector of the global economy and explore how non-profit agencies function.
Designed to provide a value-added learning experience, each student explores management issues within the volunteer sector of a local or international community. The main objective of this project is to increase awareness of the not-for-profit sector, and of the managerial and competitive benefits derived from student involvement.
This component of the Laurier MBA can range from a 40-hour commitment with a local community based firm, to an extended international volunteer project. In addition to the Not-for-Profit Practicum there is a selection of electives that also focus on this important area.
Electives include: Competitive strategy for a Sustainable World, Environmental Management, Ethics and the Conduct of Business, and Not-for-Profit Management.
