Professional Development

The Laurier MBA not only provides you with the business expertise required to succeed in your career, but also professional development workshops that will allow you to take your career to the next level.

The ability to communicate clearly and persuasively is what can elevate an individual from being a mediocre manager to being an exceptional one. We help our students learn these concepts very early in the program by providing numerous opportunities to speak and write in a business context. Continuous feedback and coaching are also provided from faculty and other qualified professionals throughout the program to help you develop your full personal potential.

Career Services

At Laurier, we offer many different types of career services to ensure that our students are well prepared to get the careers they are seeking. We offer workshops that include guidance on career planning, promoting transferable skills to employers, interview preparation, networking, business etiquette, and negotiation. In addition, we encourage you to schedule individual appointments with our MBA career services staff, who will offer you career counselling. They will also work with you to develop winning interviewing skills, resume and cover letter writing, and very importantly, show you the path to effective networking.

Alumni Sharing Knowledge (ASK)

This program provides students with the opportunity to connect with Laurier alumni and learn first-hand about the careers they have successfully pursued. It will also be a great opportunity for you to network with working professionals from Laurier who are already in the industry of your choice.

Graduating Student Employment Service

The GSES introduces students in their graduating year to opportunities in organizations through GSES job postings. These job postings are searchable in our in-house database and also distributed by email to students registered with the service.

We have more than 2800 employers who will post their job opportunities through the Laurier Career Centre annually. This gives our Laurier students easy access to available jobs that they can apply for. This attests to the quality of our graduates and the comprehensive employment services that we offer.
