March 11, 2011 – Aspen Case Competition
Laurier is participating in the Aspen Institute Case Competition again this year! This international competition focuses on the social, environmental and economic challenges facing business leaders in mainstream, for-profit companies. Only 2 of the 25 schools competing are Canadian universities, so it’s a great opportunity to show the international business community what Laurier MBAs have to offer!
To enter, form a team of 4 Laurier MBA Students (one of the team members must be a first year student) and send your names to info@lauriernetimpact.com by March 18th.
The first round of the competition will be held internally at Laurier from March 25-27th In the second round, the best submissions from each of the 25 schools will be determined by an external judging panel. 5 of the teams will be selected for the final round in NYC on April 15th.
In addition to receiving fully paid transportation and accommodation, finalists also get to meet with leading business executives and are guaranteed a mininum of $1,500 from the $40,000 prize pool!

December 8, 2010 – Develop the MBA Oath at Laurier
During the summer of 2010, our class participated in the MBA Oath Project. So many Laurier students signed the MBA Oath that Laurier became a Leadership School and rankes among the ten most involved schools, internationally. The MBA Oath Project is a global initiative that asks MBA Candidates and MBA Alumni to a higher standard of professional responsibility. The scope of the Oath includes corporate, social, environmental and ethical forms of responsibility. Stakeholders in this project include the United Nations Global Compact Net Impact, and the Aspen Institute. Make an informed decision to sign the MBA Oath at: http://mbaoath.org/take-the-oath.

September 27, 2010 — Metro Pass Discounts
Laurier MBA students who are based at the Toronto campus now qualify for the post-secondary student monthly metro pass discount. When you are purchasing your pass, you will need to provide your Laurier ID card as well as a letter confirming that you are currently registered in Laurier’s MBA program.
